An incredibly lucky German guy is thanking his lucky stars after winning a luxury £1 million home for just the cost of a £25 raffle ticket! Christoph Jaegar from Hamburg was apparently absolutely stunned to hear he was the proud new owner of  Oldborough Retreat near Crediton. The 36 year old man bought one of £46,000 sold by Brian and Wendy Wilshaw to try and win the property. The draw was held in a solicitors office in Exeter last week. The property was on the market in 2007 for £950,000 but was not selling due to the beginning of the property market crash so the Wilshaws hit on the idea of organising the raffle to sell the 5 bedroomed house which also benefits for a fishing lake  plus four other two bedroomed hoiday lodges. So if that has inspired you why not have a go at the competition I featured last month – its still open and you never know it could be you who buys the lucky ticket.  So fingers crossed and good luck )

The prize is a beautiful house in a fabulous location in  southern Spain, built in the Andalucian style with dramatic views, close to a golf course, and amenities including swimming pool. I will leave you to log on to the site and browse the many photographs of the property because they will do it much better justice than I can here but it is an amazing property and, to be honest, I’m a little loathe to tell you about this competition because I want to win it!!! ) The house is immaculately fitted out, including a kitchen to die for (in my humble opinion) and built to a high standard. The furniture is not included but all appliances in the kitchen are fitted and will stay.
